Cyber threats are numerous and becoming more advanced by the day. There is a serious risk of losing access to your municipal operating systems and the data contained to operate your town or city on a daily basis. The costs of recovering corrupted data, lost records, and related financial information could be extensive, if even possible. It might not be possible to recover the system. Think of the lost revenue and the reputational risk of losing your system!

The available information on cyber threats and how to protect yourself is extensive. The Cyber Security Tools section on this page offers some information to begin the process of accessing free resources related to cyber security. In there you will find step-by-step instructions from NLC-RISC & NLC Mutual’s Cyber Roadmap to get you started. Be sure to complete the Assessment Service Request Form in order to get your free CISA cyber assessment. CISA is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency. CISA is part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
